Just had a big arguement with the boss last night and she xed CDA for this summer. She claimed she was considering it until I mentioned it was a camping trip....then rambled on that the kids are too young to leave behind with grandparents and we can't take them cause she would be stuck with them the whole time, blah blah blah. She mentioned I could fly up so that I would not be gone for more than a few days, but then I wouldn't have a bike However, I was thinking of maybe seeing if Greg (from RA) would haul the beast up there for me ....but I hate to ask someone I don't know. Oh well...some year I will be back home again.

That has got to be heart breaking for you, Dean. Have you checked into shipping your bike and having someone on this end storing it for you?

Yes, it is As for the shipping, the boss would not allow that cause she is tight with money. From hearing about other people shipping their bikes, it would cost around $250-400 depending on who you go through. I'm sure she would let me drive before that happened and we know that won't happen for a few years That is why I thought about Greg as my option to haul it up for me, then I would just get a rental from the airport and meet up with them at HorseHaven or where ever the final destination of choice is. But I don't really know him, so am not sure that will happen either, at least not this year....but who knows, it is still 6 months away, so things could change

Sorry to hear about the lock on the gate (so to speak) for this year. I do look forward to meeting in person those I have met here in the forum. There will be many opportunities in the years to come and eventually we will get to ride with you and your little ones as well. What's the desert like? I've heard "oh it's just so beautiful" and I've heard "oh god it's so dry, rocky and full of varmits." How about some pictures? Maybe someday Esther and I can come down there. Not real soon unfortunately. My job is demanding and my truck just set me back a gouge in my wallet. Keep the machine in tune and I'll do the same. If you ever read very deep into some of the posts you'll find that I'm pretty darn good for family rides, but not so for technical. See you on the trails when I do.
