I go to those fotos almost every day. They help me get through the winter months. It gives me something to look forward to and plan for. I look at the photos then go to the gym, zone out on the rowing machine and pretend I am riding my 500 on top of those beautiful mountains.

Im considering getting myself a sand tire and hitting some of the trails...lol that sounds like a heck of a lot of fun.
all this sitting around stuff is horrible its like breaking up with your girlfriend once every winter. I miss riding so much that I think im gonna have a break down if i dont go sit on my bike or something. maybe i could go wash it, it is a little bit muddy from ripping up and down the streets the other day. when i got a break in the snow.

You know we sit around pregnant doging about the winter wishing we could ride but wh2oscott isn't moping around waiting till Spring. He is keeping himself busy having fun. Have you ever been curious about his name? I was and I ask him. He said that wh2o stands for winter water (snow)! He gets out and plays in the snow in the the winter time. Have you seen his photo album of his must recent winter adventure? Maybe he can break way long enough to tell us a little about his fun one of these days.

I raced for the first time in 8 years in a GP this last weekend....it was a lot of fun. Sunny sky's, high around 65...aahhhh!!! ;D Oh, sorry about that, didn't mean to rub it in LOL But hey, I'll trade ya for a while, I want to do some skiing and snowmobiling and it sounds like you have a lot of snow to do just that right now. Night riding is the best for many reasons....first, you are usually the only one out there so you can haul down the trail without worry (other than maybe a deer, elk, or moose standing in the trail ). Second, it is great cross training for riding db....find some whoops/jumps and haul through them, the technique for riding sleds is very similiar to DBs. Third, it is awesome to be on top of a mountain with a full moon out, the mountains look gorgeous. Enjoy and Happy Holidays! from a land where it doesn't look like xmas other than a few lights/decorations here and there

Dean, does this mean you are hooked on GP? I am embarassed to say, I don't know what that is. I am a trail rider only. I know very little about the competition scene. It might be 65 degrees now but you will be cooking in the heat when we finely get to ride again. You will have to wait till nighttime. So there!

GP's are a lot of fun...I've only raced in 2, but always enjoyed it. In the ones I've raced, it was a combo of MX track and desert. So you will make laps, but the track is long so it takes a while to make a lap (Ave lap times were about 11 minutes)....these races are timed. For Example, my race went for 1 hour. So it's kind of a cross breed of an mx race and an enduro. If you ever get a chance, you should try one. As for the heat, it's not all that bad as long as you take a lot of water. My plans as of now are to make a trip up there around 4th of July...hopefully it happens. Enjoy the snow

That sounds like the Hare Scrambles race I entered back in 1998 out at Seven Mile ORV Park. I came in 1st place in the Powder Puff. They said my clock time was faster than 2/3 of the entries (158). But what they didn't say was my track cut out the big sand hill. ;D I would have had a heck of a time getting my little XR250 crossed the creek and up that thing like so many of the guys did. Actually, I lied. I did cross the creek and climbed the sandy hill successfully on my first lap. As I recall, I believe I passed five or six riders in trouble on the hill. Don't tell anyone. On the second lap, there was a big pile up on the hill so I stopped at the check point to wait. The guy said you are a girl you go that way and pointed to the direction of my track. I thought, cool and took off. After that I took advange of the powder puff route. ;D I pulled my shoulder going through the sandy whoops. The extent of the damage didn't manifest its self till two days later. It took almost two years for my shoulder to get back to normal use. Trail riding is where it is at for me. I love the mountains, camping with friends and taking pictures.

I was thinking something along the lines of putting a paddle tire on the back of my XR500 and going riding this winter ;D
You can really go with one of those

I was just looking at my pic page, on my site,(haven't done that in awhile!). I want to go back to Scott's mountain! Three rocks was fun too, but when I first got my KDX, I went there and it was pretty messed up, they had been logging. Justin
