The red oak trail is clear and open. It has had a lot of work done to it in the alst year by the F.S. and its nice.
Also the Cranky Gulch trail has been widened a lot, from single track to atv width. Gonna go check that out havn;t seen it this year yet.

It is about a mile up the moon pass road into avery. Im not sure it even has a number anymore its just "red oak" i guess. If you plan to attend the campout im hosting then we will ride right by it or maybe even take the scenic route up it. and back into the main road its a fun lil ride pretty easy almost anyone can do it. Its got a little bit of a hill climb in it but you can do it in 1st gear so its nothing that everyone wont make it up.

Brent, I was the first rider to go up that trail after they worked it over. I hated it. The dirt was soft and fluffy. It was a pregnant dog to get up the mountain. It wore me out because the 500 bogged down in the soft dirt. It was like trying to climb a sand dune in first gear. I am sure it is harden in now. That was last summer. The trail is one h*ll of a hill climb that goes up & up & up & up......... It gets steeper as you go. There is one section that is nearly vertical. It only levels off when you final reach the top of the mountain. I like the trail though.

Yeah the trail is alot better now. The really steep part is getting worn down and you can make it in a motor scooter these days if u had the guts. Its not hard at all

Your 500 may bog down because of the elevation.

I am sorry to hear that the trail is getting easier. I am looking for a few Good Trails. Please think up a good Single-track loop for me to try out at your ride. I can handle only so much road. Where Will we Camp?

Scott, we will camp in loop creek there are alot of good camp sites and i think there might be a few guys going out early and they will get us a good one. I will make up some maps for everyone, and some directions to my place.
