The Canfield Prescribed burn has gone terribly wrong, The fire was swept by high winds into the hayden lake area, people are being evacuated, Everyone is encouraged to volunteer at Fire Headquarters. Call 1 800 IMA FOOL.

That scenerio can very well happen. It has happened in other places. But highly unlikely at Canfield this time of year. :)A-FOOL

I may be up for a Sunday Morning ride, but not at Canfield. A couple years ago I promised myself no weekend Canfield. just too many people riding too fast. If you would like to do a nice ride, 3 Sisters should be open.

meet at the bayview post office , its a ridge top trail that goes toward Cocolalla. Its single-track. I think you can handle it. Im heading out right now to ski ST Joe Baldy, but should be home late tonight. Round up anyone who wants a early season single-track primer.

mmmmm how about 11:00. drive north out of Hayden to Athol, turn right, drive to the traffic circle at the entrance to Farragut , Drive 3/4 of the way around the circle and head north. This road follows the boundary of the park and will make a turn back to the east at the bottom of a long hill, just another mile or so and as you come into Bayview the Post Office is on the left. Total trip time from Hayden is under a 1/2 hour. total ride time of 2-4 hours depending on blowdown and rider ability

Will I need the 250? I am not accustom to it. That could be a disadvantage for me. Uncle has decided to go too. He will be riding his 250. We will try to be there by 11:00. Please be patient. ;D

Maybe you should try to become accustomed to it, I think you would enjoy single-track more w/ the 250

Well I took Scott's advice and rode the 250. I hate to admit that I actually enjoyed riding it. I think I am as fast with it as I am with the 500 with less work. The trail is a technical single track trail. Wh2oscott, badwes and I had trouble getting to the trailhead because of snow, but finally find a route that we could get through on. We didn't get very far on the trail though before running into more snow so the ride was cut short. But not without a few pictures of Pend Oreille Lake. ;D community.webshots.com/album/133543651KHovOj?635
