E, better call the F.S. before that Canfield ride. Canfield Prescribed Burn was to be set today, might be held off a day or 2 because of the light rain we got. They plan on burning a large portion of the mid to top of the mountain, usually after these burns a large amount of debris will need to be cleared from the trails, I dont have any idea of weather the F.S. will clean the trails they make a mess of.

While out making my rounds in Idaho posting the Ladies Ride and the Poker Run flyers at the MC shops, I also stopped by at the Fernan Ranger District Office and talked to an old aquaintance of mine, Jack Dorrell. He said we are fine for riding Canfield this weekend. The prebscribe burns will be during the week. We also discussed several other things that I will fill you guys in on at our first meeting on April 12. I will also post a note here somewhere on the forum too when I catch my breath - just give me a moment.

Scott & I had a good ride on Canfield today. The snow was gone. There was good traction. And some wonderful soul has already cleared all the trails. Riding season is finely here. Yippee!!

I am taking a lunch and plan to ride Canfield all day tomorrow even if I ride alone. That is what it looks like will be the case. It wouldn't be the first time. Maybe I will get it out of my system by the time I head home to afternoon.

Well after yesterdays ride, my bike needs to see the doctor. A fork sprung a bad leak and the rear brake is gone on my 500. If anyone wants to ride, I will ride one of the other bikes. ;D

I guess I had better fess-up! I went to Canfield with Esther on Saturday, made it across the stream, but couldn't make it up trail '10' to Trail 'A'. GRRRRR It's not a very hard trail and not very long ... I just wasn't in sinc... Then we found a very low tire on Esthers bike and had to turn back and go home. Total time for riding? - maybe 30 minutes. Next day... Sunday ... Went with Esther again to the same place - I was nervous to the extreme. I crossed the stream, headed up trail '10' and kept looking for where I had troubles ... but never found it. It's just a short jaunt to get to trail 'A' Made it to trail 'A' and did fine the rest of the ride. Then Esther tells me that this is the trail for the "Ladies Day Out" trail ride. The trails are clear, (Thank you who-ever did the work!!) and easily negotiated. A few deep ruts on trail 10 getting to the trail 'A', but great riding for anyone and everyone!

Ok this is an old topic with a new thread.
Anyone want to go for a short ride on Canfield today. With the very high gas prices, we have decided to stay closer to home. We plan to go out for just a couple of hours ride later.

what are gas prices like up there now? Are they up to 2.15-2.25 like here yet? I'm wondering just how much profit the oil companies are going to make now, should be more record breaking profits like a couple years ago when gas prices shot up for a few months due to raise in "production costs"
